ROUTE 666
VEHICLES

VEHICLE OVERVIEW

The other part of the Convoy is the various vehicles orbiting the main trucks. These are the cars available to Drifters to drive and ride in; there always seems to be just enough to accommodate each Drifter, and there’s a vehicle that seems tailor fit to each person.

What’s more, each Drifter when they arrive finds a key either on their person or near one of these vehicles, further marking one in particular as theirs.

Vehicles range from motorcycles to pickup trucks, or even camper vans. And there’s a handful of odd mechanical horses and chocobos thrown into the mix as well, to accommodate those with no driving experience.

VEHICLE QUALITIES

When players app into Route 666, they’ll be asked to choose one vehicle for their character. This is to aid in exploration and wandering away from the Convoy in order to have adventures beyond the trucks.

Given the massive number of cars, motorcycles, etc, we’d like you to pick one thing your car is really good at, and that will be its QUALITY. It’s the thing your vehicle is best at! Yes, this means you can drive a super fast and agile pickup truck, or a tanky motorcycle.

Fast: Main attribute is GO FAST! High top speed, maneuverability, and just agile dexterity vehicles all around. Commonly includes hotrods.
Tough: Main attribute is TOUGH. They can take hits and wallops that would make other cars just explode, and keep on trucking. Commonly includes pickup trucks! Excel in going off road and exploring, and handling all sorts of terrain.
Spacious: the vans, SUVs, etc of the fleet. These vehicles can seat multiple people and may even be converted into small and mobile homes!
Accessible: For those who need a little extra help in driving their vehicles, these cars come equipped with things like sensors or non-standard control schemes, to aid in driving for those with disabilities.

“But wait,” you say “what if I want my vehicle to be super awesome, good at multiple things, and shoot lasers?”

UPGRADES

That’s where upgrades come in! At the moment we have five types. These can be bought through regains at 10 points each:
Extra capacity. More people in the party van!
Turbo charger. GO FASTER. Adds the Fast quality.
Armor: Adding more toughness onto a vehicle. Adds the TANK quality.
Gizmos: Adds ACCESSIBLE

In addition, the following can also be unlocked with AC rewards. (15 points each)
Flight. You want a flying car? Or a gyrocoptor or motorcycle or the like? Then this is the perk for you! Flying vehicles are like mini airships, capable of backtracking to any previously visited location and avoiding any and all difficult terrain. Though we don’t advise blazing too far ahead of the convoy, if you want a safe place to spend the night.
Weaponry. For the discerning driver who absolutely wants laser guns and the like on their car for fighting monsters or blowing up obstacles. Like Mario Cart, but with live ammo!

Also cars come with a homing beacon; if they stray a certain distance past the convoy and stay there undriven for 2-3 days, remote systems will eventually bring the car back to the convoy. Character’s are SOL if they blow up their car though: going to need to spend regain points to get a new one, or ride buddy or in the convoy!
