Believe it or not, was thinking specifically about Transformers when making the original ruling on "they get to stay non-human, they just have an extra non-human form now." My own imagining for say, a werebeast Transformer would probably be something along the lines of Zoids. Or any of the various monster-formers that have cropped up across the Transformers franchise. (I'm not super versed in Transformers, but I know there's guys like Grotusque and Blood and so forth.)

Tangentially related, yes Transformers can still turn into cars and trucks and whatnot. That absolutely takes up a power slot when applying since it's well beyond anything a normal human could do, but since that's a signature ability for the characters, they can do that.
